BALLSTON SPA – Helen F. Danforth, 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Maplewood Manor Nursing Home, with her daughter-in-law by her side. Born in Lebanon, NY she was the daughter of the late William and Phoebe Corey. She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Moose Lodge and V.F.W. Post in Troy. Helen was the wife of the late Alfred Danforth. She is the mother of Florence (Cliff) Allen of Plymouth, IN, Charles (Fran) Crawford of Ballston Spa and Hallie Crosier of Petersburg. Helen is the sister of William (Tilley) Corey of VT and the late Earol Reynolds. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Helen F. Danforth.
