EAST GREENBUSH- Helen Claire Gizzi, 73, of East Greenbush, passed away on Thursday July 7, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy after a courageous battle with cancer.
Helen was born on July 16, 1933 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Bach. She was a night supervisor with New York State Office of General Services at the state campus for thirty eight years. Helen enjoyed solving puzzles and had a great devotion and love for animals.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Joseph A. Gizzi. She is the sister in law of Carmine, Michael, Vincent, Paul, Peter and Robert Gizzi, Rose Marie June and Ann Fitzgerald. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Heights. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd.Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144 American Cancer Society, 265 Osborne Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211.
