TROY – Helen H. Schrodt, 95, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 10, 1911, in Albany, New York, Helen was the daughter of the late Paul and Lena Meade Schrodt. She is predeceased by her siblings, A. Gladys Schrodt, Alyce Lockart, and Paul Schrodt.
She was employed with New York Telephone, the owner of a gift shop on New Scotland Ave. for many years, and an accomplished seamstress. To all who knew her, Helen's favorite job was taking care of her family and her home.
Helen was the loving Aunt of Anna Habel, David (Terese) Lockart, Peter (Sharon) Lockart, Paul Schrodt, Thomas Schrodt, and the late William Lockart.
She was the devoted Great Aunt of Bonni (Habel) Shippee, Dennis Habel, Timothy (Nancy) Habel, Karen Habel, and Darik (Deborah) Habel, as well as the Great-Great Aunt of Jaimie Habel, Jonathan and Jillian Shippee, Nicholas Habel, and the late Alexander Shippee.
Helen is also survived by nine other great nieces and nephews and their children.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 12 noon at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Albany. Memorial contributions may be made to The Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre, 49 Marvin Ave., Troy, New York 12180 in memory of Helen H.
