NEWTONVILLE – Helen K. Grealish (né Warford) passed into eternal rest on Monday, March 14, 2011, not long after celebrating her 90th birthday.
Mrs. Grealish was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on February 13, 1921. She married in 1943 and worked as a fashion model for Francine's of Pittsburgh in the early 1940s until after the birth of her first baby and her husband's passing of the Allegheny County bar exam. Her husband's work with World Commerce and later US Steel took the family to Santiago, Chile, and from there to East Norwalk, CT, and finally onto London, England in 1963. She was widowed after the untimely death of her loving husband, John J. Grealish, in 1967.
She was an adoring mother and will be greatly missed by her four children: Kathleen Grealish of Newtonville; Maureen Grealish of Newtonville; Michael Grealish of London, England; and Patricia Brunel-Cohen and husband, Edward, of Surrey, England. She is also survived by her three loving grandchildren: Claire Brunel-Cohen of London, England; John Grealish of London, England; and Jane Brunel-Cohen of Bristol, England.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Loudonville. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. There will be no calling hours.
