Helen L. Brew

ALBANY- Helen L. Brew, 91, of Albany, passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2015 at Stratton VA Medical Center.
She was born on December 22nd, 1923, in Lucerne Mines, Pennsylvania to John and Anna Cush. She attended Lucerne Mines High School. Upon graduating she joined the Coast Guard in 1944, serving in WWII as a Third Class Radioman in the Pentagon where she received and transcribed Morse Code. After her discharge she joined the Zaloga American Legion Post and spent many happy days volunteering at St.Peter's Hospital.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and spending quiet nights at home watching the National News.
She is preceded in death by her beloved Husband of many years William J. Brew.
She will be forever missed by her Daughters; Diane DiSanto, and Carol M. Bauer, her Son-In-Law, Jacob Reed, and dear friend Patricia Stout. She is also survived by her four Sisters and many loving Grand Children and Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25th at 9:00AM to 10:00AM at New Comer Funeral Home located in Colonie, NY. The service will be at Blessed Sacrament Church (Albany) at 10:30AM, following the Mass will be the burial at Bethlehem Cemetery (Delmar) at 1:00PM.
