Helen G. Liebig

Schenectady- Helen Gulewicz Liebig, 92, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018. Helen was born March 28, 1925 in Schenectady, NY, where she spent most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Wantuch) Gulewicz.

Helen was a hair beautician in her early years and then worked at the Scotia Naval Depot in inventory until its closure. A stay- at-home Mom, she loved working in her flower gardens. She was a competent clothes maker and seamstress and also enjoyed knitting. Gifted in creative crafts, she made braided rugs, designed and stitched cotton stuffed dolls, and won several Blue Ribbons for her original crewel yarn "paintings" on burlap at the Altamont Fair. She was an avid reader enjoying both historical and science fiction.

Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Horace D. Liebig and her three brothers, Frank, Ben and Walter. She is survived by her son Leslie, and her daughter Pauline and son-in-law Paul.
