COLONIE – Helen M. Casey, 84, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Albany and raised in the Capital Region, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and Michael Regan.
Helen worked for AT&T and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a fan of the New York Yankees. She loved and cherished her large family.
Along with her parents, Helen was predeceased by her late husband, William Casey, son Michael Casey, and brother John Regan.
Helen is survived by her children, Patricia (Arthur) Hommel of Colonie, Regina (Matthew) Nash of Ballston Spa, William (Mary) Casey of Rotterdam, Margaret (Nicholas) Murphy of Winter Springs, FL, Mary Anne (Robert) Snyder of Colonie and Daniel (Julia) Casey of Charlton; brother Michael Regan; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial Contibutions may be made to St. Peter's Hospice Inn, 315 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in Helen's name.
