HOWLAN, HELEN M.
Helen (Bishop) Howlan, 60, passed away, after a long illness, on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Helen was born in Morehead City, NC, to the late George and Lessie (Taylor)Bishop. She loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren. Helen was a great friend and would do anything to help others. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, John Howlan, Sr. and her sister, Patricia.
Helen is survived by her ten brothers and sisters; Judy, Carl, George, Lessie, James, Michael, Paul, Claire, Cindy and Thomas. She is the loving mother of Julian (Amy) and John (Mandy) Howlan, and cherished grandmother of; Julian Jr. "Beaner", Lorie Ann, John "Jack", Sean and Brooke.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 6pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 3 to 6. Burial will be at the privacy of the family. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Amercan Diabetes Association, Albany Office, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 in Helen's honor.
