Helen Monington

December 17, 1924 — April 21, 2013

COLONIE – Helen Monington, 88, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at her residence. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Zenaide (Maynard) and Phillippe Perrier.

Helen worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and retired after many years of service. Her hobbies included sewing, Sudoku and crafts. Helen enjoyed playing Skip-Bo with her good friend Grace Catalano. She found pleasure in teaching her great granddaughters Michayla and Kaitlyn crafts.

Along with her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, Douglas W. Monington; sons Bernard G. Santaski and Robert J. Santaski, and her siblings.
She will be missed by her daughter Shirley (Don) Tuttle of Davenport, FL; thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:00 am at St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Avenue, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Equinox, 95 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206 or online at www.equinoxinc.org in Helen's name.
