TROY – Helen (Nell) Schuh, 105, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home.
Helen was born on November 11, 1902 in Coatbridge, Scotland and was the daughter of the late Stephen and Sophia Remancus. She came to this country as an infant and grew up in Hoosick Falls, NY. Helen was a resident of Troy for 69 years. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of the (former) St. Lawrence's Church in Troy and was a homemaker.
Helen was the wife of the late Edward J. Schuh. She is the mother of Helen Pollack of Colonie, who is so blessed to have her for so many years, and was the mother of the late Edward J. Schuh, Jr. Grandmother of David Pollack and Karen Pollack, and great-grandmother of Rachael Pollack all of Colonie. Also survived by her brothers, John Remancus of Willsboro, NY and Albert Remancus of Mechanicville, her sisters, Edna Rinaldi of Albany and Florence Ogilvie of Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Alice Pomiber, Theresa Rinaldi and Eva Pulaski and her brother, Stanley Remancus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, Third and Jackson Sts., Troy. Interment will follow at St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery in Troy. A calling hour will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers a Mass offering in her memory would be appreciated.
