NISKAYUNA – A woman of grace and beauty, Helen F. O'Brien of Niskayuna and Largo, FL passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Chicago, IL, she was the cherished daughter of the late John and Nellie Trainor. Mrs. O'Brien lived in the Boston, MA area before moving to Niskayuna. Upon retirement Mrs. O'Brien spent the winter months in Largo, FL. Helen received a bachelor's degree from Lowell State Teacher's College and a master's degree from SUNY, Albany. She was a teacher for the South Colonie Central School District at Saddlewood Elementary School. Mrs. O'Brien was a member of the Mohawk Golf Club and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was an artist and was active in various art groups in this area, and in Florida. Helen is the beloved wife of John J. O'Brien. She is the devoted mother of Janet O'Brien of Halfmoon, NY, Dr. Joan O'Brien and her husband, Dr. James Wall of San Francisco, CA and John O'Brien and his wife, Elizabeth Petty of Washington, D.C. She is the sister of Kathleen Trainor of Arlington, MA and the late Mary Trainor. She is the cherished grandmother of Sam O'Brien and John O'Brien-Wall.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 11:00 o'clock at St. Helen's Church. At Helen's request, there will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. At the request of the family, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Helen F. O'Brien.
