Helen W. Pratt, 95, of Albany, NY died peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the St. Peters Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany, NY.
She is the wife of Robert E. Pratt. Robert and Helen were married on February 25, 1961 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2011.
Born in Ithaca, NY on December 19, 1917, she was the daughter of the late J. Malcomb and Mildred Clarissa (Smith) Watson.
Mrs. Pratt was a graduate of Albany High School. For the past 50 years, she was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Albany. Helen was very active in the local musical community serving as a piano teacher to numerous students throughout the Capital District. She also served as organist for the Trinity Church and was a member of the Monday Musical Group and Vocalist Group. Helen loved the game of bridge and belonged to her local Bridge Club for over 60 years. The East Coast was one of Helen's favorite places in the world and she and her family spent many summers vacationing in Rock Port, MA. Helen also enjoyed travelling abroad to England and Scotland. Most of all, Helen loved her family and took special pleasure in working in her flower gardens and cooking gourmet meals.
In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by her cousin, Meg Watson of Phoenix, AZ and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Pratt of Buskirk, NY. She is also survived by her niece, Sandra (Pratt) Zerrillo of Slingerlands, NY and her great niece, Alexandra "Lexi" Zerrillo of Slingerlands, NY.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 11:00 am at the Kermani Chapel, Trinity Methodist Church, 235 Lark Street, Albany, NY. Friends may call at the church from 10 am to 11 am. The interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
