LATHAM – Helen Rose Miller, 77, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born on October 16, 1934 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Joseph Alfred and Lillian Rose (Zinzow) Belleville. She was also predeceased by her sister, Lillian Goodman and her brother, Walter Belleville.
Helen was the secretary for Local 259M in Latham where prior to that a beautician for Sheldon's Coiffeurs. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Assumption Church in Latham. Above everything, Helen loved her family and welcomed her friendships. When you walked through the door, you were welcomed into her home with a loving heart and exceptional cooking. Helen loved the annual family reunion or any social gathering whether it was a night to play cards or an ocean cruise with family. She always carried the concern of others in her soul.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Emery B. Miller Sr.; her loving sons, Charles (Katharine) Miller of Horseheads, NY, Emery B. (Deborah) Miller, Jr. of Schenectady, Harry (Kimberly, MD) Miller MD of Clifton Park, and Michael (Darlene) Miller of East Greenbush; in addition to those that she considered her children - Sonya and Randy McMillen, Lynn Charlas and Michelle Golonka and Tim Wood; her cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Katherine) Miller, Joe Miller, Michael (Amy McCabe) Miller, Stephanie (Joel Martinez) Miller, Sophia, Lillian, Emery, Thomas and Timothy Miller, and Carson and Cameron Miller; her cherished great-grandson, Joel Martinez Jr.; her brother, Joseph A. (Phyllis) Belleville Jr.; her sister, Mary Fulston; and her sisters/brothers-in-law, Shirley Belleville, William Goodman, Lillian Matjcak, and Samuel Park (Bert) Miller. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, then to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
