Helen Eva Sitterly

Rensselaer- Helen Eva Sitterly, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen Smith. Helen was the devoted wife to the late Weston Sitterly. They were married over 70 years.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved cooking for them. Her favorite way to devote her time was on her loving grandchildren, she was always there for them and her entire family. Helen was never ashamed to be a sassy pants in her life. She truly made a lasting impact on the lives of those around her, leaving them all with memories to keep her spirit and sas going for years and years.

Helen is survived by her children, Helen Throton, Irene (Dennis) Vonronne, Harry Sitterly, Melody Sitterly-Williams, and Raymond M. (Marianne) Sitterly, Sr.; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys and Joan A; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Helen is predeceased by her children, Weston Sitterly, Albert Sitterly, and Florence Sitterly; three sisters; and four brothers.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Friday February 18, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service to be held at 12:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow the service at Albany Rural Cemetery, Cemetery Ave, Albany, NY 12204.
