ALBANY- Helena D. DeLima, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at her home. Born in Villa Do Porto, Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Mauricio and Maria Lopes.
Helena was a homemaker who put her family at the center of her life. She loved watching her grandchildren.
Helena will be missed by her children; Ralph (Zenaide) DeLima, Marie (Thomas) Barone, and Naomi DeLima; her grandchildren; Jason (Melissa) Barone, Andrew Barone, Joseph Barone, Jennifer DeLima, Amanda (Christopher) Fernandez, Sara DeLima, and Daniel J. DeLima, and her great-grandchildren; Jaylin DeLima-Marable, Isabela Fernandez, Olivia Fernandez, Noah DeLima-Reed, Anthony Barone, and Brian Barone; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Joseph (Theresa) DeLima, Michael (Grace) DeLima, Mary (John) Camelo, and Noemia (Manny) Silva; nieces and nephews, Lourdes Simas, Georgina (Randy) Morgan, John (Pam) Lopes, Amancio and Carlos Lopes.
In addition to her parents, Helena is predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Daniel DeLima and several brother and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany. Calling hours will precede the Mass from 8 to 10 am on Monday at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
