Helena Grimaldi

Cohoes- Helena Grimaldi, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024 with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Wadowice, Poland, daughter to the late Jan and Antonina Grajny. Helena was the devoted wife to Michael Grimaldi. They were married 26 years. 

Helena worked as a Supervisor in the Pension Program in Poland. Upon moving to America, Helena worked as a Nanny for 25 years before retiring. 

Helena enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved cooking for them. She loved traveling and going on cruises with her husband. Helena loved the seashores and was a member of the choir at St. Ambrose Church. Most of all Helena had a passion for dancing, every chance she got you could find Helena dancing. 

Helena was a loving person who had a passion for helping to provide care to children. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her. 

In addition to her husband, Helena is survived by her daughter, Jolanta Caldwell; grandchildren, Spencer, Preston, and Kacper; brother, Stan (Hania) Grajny; sisters, Danuta and Natalia; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Helena is predeceased by her son, Darek.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd, Latham, NY 12110 on Friday, September 19, 2024 at 10:30am with burial to follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871 .
