Helene M. Ward

MT VERNON, NY - On July 24, 2008, the angel of the Lord escorted Helene M. Ward from Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY, to her eternal home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Helene was born in Albany, NY on July 29, 1945 and resided there until around 1965 when she relocated to the Bronx and then to Mt. Vernon, NY. Her selflessness, love for people and passion as a caretaker led to her career as a Cancer Care Technician Instructor at Calvary Hospital,where she worked for the past 38 years until she was no longer able. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Florie Stone, sons William and Robert; sisters Delores (Randy) Tarver, Theresa (Tommy) Lewis, Judy King, Priscilla Stone, Mary Wallace and Rita (Charles) Fulton; brothers Kingsley, Barry and Marshall; grandchildren Jermelle, Somone, William, Keishon and Rayonna; a very special cousin, Zelda Woodard, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Solomon Stone and brother Bradley. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 30, 2008, 10 a.m. to noon at Metropolitan NTM Baptist Church, 105 Second Street, Albany, NY 12210. Services immediately following 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
