EAST GREENBUSH – Helene S. Hohenstein, 92, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Rosewood Gardens Nursing Home. Born in Chatham, NY she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Louise Williams. Prior to raising her children, Mrs. Hohenstein worked for John Hancock Life Insurance Company. She enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a talented seamstress and artist. Helene was the wife of the late George C. Hohenstein for sixty-two years until his passing. She is the devoted mother of Suzanne (John) Charles of Clifton Park and Rosalind (John) Conway of Albany. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Candace) Charles of Clifton Park and Michael Charles of Scottsdale, Arizona. Helene's family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Gardens for the love and care they gave to her during her stay.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
