COLONIE- Helju H. Sepman, 89, of Colonie, died peacefully at her home on Monday March 7, 2011.
Born in Tallinn, Estonia on June 21, 1921, she was very proud of her Estonian heritage. Helju passed on her love for her homeland's traditions, culture, folk dancing and rhythmic gymnastics to future generations of the Estonian Youth Group in Schenectady. She was a longtime employee of New York State, an active member of the local Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church group and the Albany-Schenectady Estonian Association. Her paintings and handicrafts grace the homes of family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Heldor on February 25, 2005. Helju is survived by her daughter, Silja of Albany and relatives in the United States and abroad.
A private memorial interment of her ashes will be held in the summer at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. In her memory, memorial contributions would be welcomed to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205.
