Henrietta E. Coleman, age 94, passed on June 1, 2021.
She was born to Lawrence Parker and Annabell Elizabeth Johnson in Charleston, South Carolina on January 24, 1927.
Henrietta spent most of her childhood years in South Carolina and then moved to New York State where she graduated high school and met and married her husband of 63years, Richard Coleman. He was the love of her life. They both cherished their family and close friends. Henrietta dedicated her entire life to raising her children and helping raise her grandchildren. They lived in Manhattan, Amityville, and Queens before finally settled in Summit New York, where they lived their ideal quiet outdoor life.
Henrietta was a very kind, giving, and social person, always putting the needs of others before herself. She loved to host pool parties and cookouts to bring family and friends together.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and traveling with her family. She and Richard both loved to take their children and grandchildren camping in their RV. She always had kind and comforting words for all she encountered. She kept a positive outlook on life and her relationships, always showing gratitude for both. She was the lifeline of her family, supporting everyone through their life's journey.
She will be truly be missed but never forgotten, living in our hearts until we meet again.
Henrietta and Richard raised 7 children Sandra Lucas, Beverly Tinsley, Arthur Coleman, Richard Coleman, III., Ronald Coleman,Gail Worthington, Jeffrey Coleman, and Eric Coleman. She shared a loving relationship with her daughter-in- laws,Sharon Coleman, Inella Coleman,Janet Coleman, Diane Grace, Betty Johnson and Judy Kleinman. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Coleman, sons Richard and Ronald Coleman. She is survived by her first cousin and best friend, Barbara Battle and Rita Parker Henry, 28 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 12 great great-grandchildren.
