Henry J. Beaver

June 2, 1928 — April 24, 2012

GUILDERLAND - Henry "Hank" Beaver, age 83, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 after a long illness. Hank was born in Manhattan and spent his early years in Brooklyn. He married his first wife, June, in 1953 and they lived in Queens. A boy was born in 1954. June died in 1956 and Hank and young Mark moved to Albany. He met and married Audrey, a widow with 2 young sons. Those early years were a wild and crazy ride and there were no seat belts at that time. All 5 boys made it to adulthood.

Hank worked a variety of jobs in his young years and then started his technical career with Consolidated Edison of New York (three years) and then 30 years with what was then known as AT&T Long Lines. He retired from AT&T in 1984 on his 56th birthday. He had the privilege of working with great people at AT&T Long Lines. His position as Staff Assistant also enabled him to work with great people in the old New York Telephone Company and also Western Electric Company on joint projects.

Hank is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Audrey. He is also survived by four sons: Glenn of Philadelphia, PA, Stephen (Linda) of Latham, NY, Martin (Sharon) of Nashua, NH, and Brian (Regina McCarthy) of Dedham, MA. One beloved son, Mark, predeceased Hank. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Barbie of Sarasota, FL. He is also survived by a brother Kenneth of Raleigh, NC, a sister Lorraine McFarlane (James) of West Haverstraw, NY, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
