Henry M. Mcclenos, Jr.

July 30, 1963 — July 17, 2014

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith hence forth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous Judge shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love His appearing." (II Timothy 4:7-8)

Henry Mungin McClenos, Jr. was born July 30, 1963 to the late Henry Mungin McClenos, Sr. and Veorah Mungin McClenos in New York Hospital. On Thursday, July 17, 2014, Henry was summoned home by our Heavenly Father from labor to rest.

Henry received his education in the New York City public school system where he graduated from High School. In 1981 he met and married Patricia St. John and from this union a beautiful daughter, Talisha Latrice McClenos, was born.

Henry served in the United States Army from 1986 – 1989. After being discharged he began a career with the New York City Department of Education from 1989 to 1995. Henry moved from Brooklyn to Albany where he began a career in Mental Health and Human Services from 1995 until the Lord called him home.

As a youngster, Henry was raised along with his brothers and sister in Holy Ghost Pentecostal Faith Church in Harlem, NY, where he was saved at the age of 7. Henry was a supportive, opinionated, strong, funny and joyful man who was passionate about his family, his work and his belief. The voice of the people; he was a man whose heart overflowed with love for his children and a supporter for all those in need. Henry was a caring, loving and giving person who would give you the shirt off his back if needed. He was full of joy and fun times. He had a laugh that would lift the spirits of anyone.

Henry leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Veorah Mungin – McClenos; daughters Talisha McClenos-Germain (Ralph) and Nina-Simone McClenos; Pop-Pop's favorite granddaughter Paris Germain; siblings Ronald McClenos, Andres McClenos, Lance Beal and Judith Edwards; nieces Claudia McClenos-Wine, Ananyah "Sunshine" Edwards, Aisha McClenos, Danielle McClenos, and Shaquanna Mungin; nephews De'Jon Moore, Andre McClenos, Jr., Bruce Mungin, Michael "Bubbaz" Wine, and Aiden "Spoon" Wine; special cousins Carolyn P. Thompson, Keith Rollin Thompson, and Walter Lewis, Jr.; previous wife Patricia St. John; long-term partner Tamika Leaks; step-children Chanelle Sykes, Sophia Leaks, Kevin Leaks and Jamal Leaks; special friend Sequanna "C" Richardson, and a host of other friends and relatives.
