Henry J. St. Gelais III

October 22, 1941 — January 10, 2025

Henry J. St. Gelais III, 83, beloved husband of the late Margaret (McAffrey) St. Gelais, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, in his Halfmoon home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Cohoes on October 22, 1941 in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Henry J. and Ruth (Hull) St. Gelais. 

Henry was educated in Clifton Park in the Shenendehowa Central School District, and retired from the NORLITE Corporation in Cohoes, after over 30 years of service.

Henry had a deep love for country music, which could be heard playing throughout his kitchen. Above all, her cherished the time he spent with his beloved family and pets. 

In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by his siblings.

Henry is survived by his children, Henry J. St. Gelais IV, (Jacqueline),  Regina Tomaro, Terry St.Gelais, Gary St. Gelais  (Jennifer Turcotte), Geoffrey (Kelly) St. Gelais, Jim (Sheila) Vasquez, and Tina (Herbert) VanAmerongen. He was the beloved poppy of 12 grandchildren, including his granddaughter Tonya (Taylor) Ellis, whom he and his wife helped raise since birth; the cherished great-grandfather to 9 great-grandchildren, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank-you to the Community Hospice of Saratoga and Washington Counties. 

Following Henry's wishes, a private burial will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery in Cohoes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Henry's memory to the Community Hospice or Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
