Herbert W. Burmaster, 91 , of Albany, NY passed away in Kissimmee, Florida on Sunday, May 3, 2015. A lifelong resident of Albany, he was the son of the late Pirie Burmaster, Sr. and Carrie Doolittle.
Mr. Burmaster was employed by General Electric in Schenectady, and was a postal carrier for the US Postal Service, retiring from the USPS Albany Division in 1984. He proudly served his country with the US Army Air Corps, 85th Airdrome Squadron during World War II as an aircraft armorer in the pacific theater. He was also a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for 55 years.
He was an avid fan of the New York Mets, college basketball, and loved spending time at Saratoga Race Course.
He was predeceased by his brothers Pirie (Josephine) Burmaster and William Burmaster; and sisters Ruth Burmaster, Marie (Bert) Ferow, and Shirley (Ward) James.
He is survived by several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be on Saturday April 9, 2015, at 12:30 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Interment will follow the service at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland.
