ALBANY- Herman (Buck) Rogers, 75, of Colonie, passed away on Friday February 2, 2007 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Alexander and Bridget Perrier Rogers.
Buck was a self employed contractor in Albany for many years. His greatest love was his family followed closely by his love for music and entertaining. He was a well known musician having formed many local bands over the years, with Family Affair the most memorable group. He also sang and played with his good friends in the Phil Foote Orchestra. Buck will always be remembered for his quick wit, great sense of humor, his kindness and compassion for his family and friends. He was always there to lend a good word and a helping hand. Buck will be sorely missed by all.
He is the devoted father of Timothy (Antonia) Rogers and Patricia Rogers. He is the foster Dad of Mark Dietz, Wendy Paul, Nicholas Brooks, Ava Dietz, Cheyenne Brooks and Michael Brooks. Buck is the brother of Theresa O'Connor, Robert Rogers and the late Margaret Peleski, Marty Kurtzner, Martha Soloyna, Clifford, Alexander, Gilbert, Francis, Wilmer, Charles and Richard Rogers. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
