ALBANY - Herman Junior Tolliver, 57, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Herman was born on June 5, 1951 in Charlottesville, VA and was the son of the late Naomi Pauline Tolliver and John Henry. He worked as a mail and supply clerk for NYS Department of Taxation and Finance for 35 years before retiring in 2006. He enjoyed model trains, computers, electronic devices and flea markets.
Herman is survived by his companion of 23 years, Beverly Blanton; his children, Dwayne Tolliver, Tonya Jordan, Tyrone Jordan, Damane Tolliver; his sisters, Naomi (Roy) Sanders and Earthene Tolliver; his brother, Louis Tolliver; his former spouse, Doretha Tolliver and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Tolliver and his step-father, Jack Dozier.
A humanistic service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt.155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held prior from 4 to 7 p.m.
