Hermann Lafayette Dickman Boone

Schenectady- Hermann Lafayette Dickmann Boone, 88, of Schenectady, N.Y. died on November 11, 2021. Dick was born on November 4, 1933 in San Diego, Calif. to Daniel E. Sr. and L. Louise Boone. After three years in the Army, he completed his B.A. in English at UCLA in 1959. Dick worked as a procurement specialist for many years at GE in Schenectady, subsequently holding various jobs until retiring in 2000 from Bridge Center of Schenectady as a grant writer.

A lover of literature and music, Dick enjoyed poetry and all kinds of recordings, but especially jazz and classical. He is survived by his brother Daniel E. Boone Jr. (Alma) of Oceanside, Calif. and sister Gertrude L. Carpenter (Grant) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three children, Dwight Boone (Nancy), Carolyn Boone and Kathryn Kilmer (Richard); and two grandchildren, Erin Kilmer and Joseph Kilmer.

There will be a small memorial gathering for immediate family members only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Octavo Singers of Schenectady (octavosingers.org).
