ROTTERDAM, NY – Hilda F. Kohl (Ricciardi) of Rotterdam, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, surrounded by her family. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of sixty three years, Herbert Kohl; three daughters, Linda Kohl Mastroianni and son-in-law James of Clifton Park, Rebecca Kohl-Drucker and son-in-law Jon of Phoenix, AZ and Janice Kohl-Sarapin and her companion Kenneth Rosen of Bradley Beach, NJ. In addition, eight grandchildren; Sam Kohl-Drucker, Henry Kohl-Drucker and Perry Kohl-Drucker; Gregory Falkner and his fiancé Sera Stanton of Schenectady; Jeremy Faulkner and his companion Triscia Pascucci of Clifton Park; Joel (Diane) Sarapin of East Brunswick, NJ; Paula Sarapin (Matthew) Albanese of New York, NY and Lila Sarapin-Horn (Bryan) of Patterson, NY. Hilda is also survived by her two sisters, Antoinette Schelle and Rose Giardenelli of Schenectady and her brother, Joseph and sister-in-law Margaret Ricciardi of Naples, FL as well as her much loved nieces and nephews. Hilda was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and was employed up to age 79 in stores such as Carl's, Hess and Filene's. During World War II, she also served as a secretary for the Army Signal Corps at the Campbell Avenue Plant, where she met her husband.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Avenue Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 526 Altamont Ave., Schenectady, NY 12303.
