Hilda M. La Duke , 85, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Hilda was born on May 22, 1928, Keene Valley, NY to the late Leo and Margaret Gilman.

Hilda enjoyed cooking, baking, family dinners and spending time with her family and friends. Hilda would often volunteer, preparing soup for the Salvation Army and with the City Mission. She was also a long time communicant of St. Gabriel The Archangel Church in Schenectady and was a past member of the Ladies of the Lore Auxiliary, Rotterdam.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by her brother and two sisters.

Hilda is survived by her beloved husband of over 65 years, Ralph L. La Duke; her cherished children, Ralph (Linda) La Duke, Michael (Debbie) La Duke, and Ronna (Lou) Welch. She is the adored grandmother of Liesha (Bill), April (Tom), Joanna (Nicholas), Courtney (Dan), Jackie (Dan), Ryan (Christina), Michael (Kelly), Jenna (Ryan) and Livia (Michael). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Cara, Anna, Kate, TJ, Julia, Ella, Lucien, Ethan, Myla and Drake.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 9 am at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 1235 State Street, Schenectady. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will follow the Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York 4 Pine West Plaza Albany, NY 12205 in Hilda's memory.
