Hildelisa Talavera

Hildelisa Talavera, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Luis Arroyo and Moserrate Sanchez. Hildelisa was the devoted wife to the late Noel Talavera. They were married 43 years.

Hildelisa enjoyed celebrating special moments with her family. She had a profound love and devotion to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and loved being a member of her church, Iglesia Unidad y Oración. Hildelisa cherished being present in the lives of her extended family through the use of social media.

Hildelisa will always be remembered for her warm smile, caring nature, friendly soul and the way she was always there for those who needed her. She was loving, thoughtful and generous. She truly cherished her family and made sure to always remind them that she was proud of them. Hildelisa was incredibly smart and witty. She will be remembered for being unbelievably strong and overcoming many difficult challenges throughout her life. But she was never strong enough to resist her favorite food; a cheesy slice of NY pizza.

Hildelisa is survived by children, Hildelisa Talavera Luna, Noel (Cesar Rodriguez) Talavera, Leon Talavera, and Cynthia Talavera; grandchildren, Lisette Luna, Justin Luna, Alex Luna, Kombs Dawodu, Avery McMullen, Juleon Talavera, Enrique Talavera, Mariella Talavera, and Caleb Talavera; great grandchildren, Alia Gilani and Isabella Gilani; sister, Nydia Arroyo; and many friends and extended family. Hildelisa is preceded by her sisters, Lucy Talavera and Luisa Arroyo.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189 on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 4:00pm.
