COLONIE – Homer "Hap" Paradis, 93, of Colonie, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late George E. and Nettie (Lattrimore) Paradis.
Hap has been retired from the NYS Department of Social Services for many years where he was employed as a telecommunications supervisor. He was a founding member of the United Fourth Presbyterian Church where he was a former elder. He was an avid baseball fan, and enjoyed playing pool and long drives in the country.
Hap was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Mabel "Mac" (Chase) Paradis; she passed away on February 21, 2009. He is the devoted father of Sandra J. Paradis (Robert A. Windham) of Greenbelt, Md., David G. Paradis (Mary Beth) of Clifton Park and the late Douglas E. Paradis. He is the brother-in-law of Velma Jessop and Norma Chase and uncle of John A. Jessop (Jan). He was predeceased by his brother, Buel Paradis; his brothers-in-law, John Jessop and Charles Chase; his sister-in-law, Wilma Chase and his nephew, Clark Jessop.

Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Memorial Park. At the request of the family, memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer's Association – NENY Chapter, 4 Pine West Plaza, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Homer "Hap" Paradis.
