Hope S. Cook, 87, of Troy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Home.
She was born on June 11, 1928 daughter of the late Myron and Wanda (Jewel) Secor. Hope worked for the Council of Churches in Albany and later as a secretary for North Colonie Central School District. She married Milford "Cookie" Cook in November of 1946 who predeceased her on July 1, 2008, after 62 years of marriage. Upon their retirement Hope and Cookie lived in Mesa, AZ and Myrtle Beach, SC where she was an avid golfer and bridge player. They later returned to their home in Troy, NY. Hope was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Hope is survived by her loving daughters, Andrea Agnew, Barbara (Bill) Dietrich, Deborah (Edmund) Novak and Nancy Moore. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Dorothy Heintz and son-in-law L. Jack Agnew.
A public Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 3:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie, NY. A Time of Rembrance service will also be held at the Eddy Heritage Nursing Home community.
Hope's family will be forever grateful to the entire staff at the Eddy and Renesselaer Hospice for their endless kindness and compassion, they were always there when it counted.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community of Hospice of Rensselaer, County 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Hope.
