Howard E. Morehouse, Jr.

COLONIE - Howard E. Morehouse, Jr., 82, passed away suddenly at his residence on Saturday, May 5, 2007.
Born in Asbury, New York on February 25, 1925, he was the son of Howard E. Morehouse, Sr. and Sarah Benn Morehouse Miller, stepson of Harold N. Miller, all deceased.
After graduating from Castleton High School in 1942, Howard entered the US Marine Corps. Overseas duty included Kwajalein, Majuro, Eniwetok, Hawaii and Iwo Jima. He was discharged as Corporal at Bainbridge, Maryland March 2, 1946. Returning home, Howard enjoyed bowling, cards, hunting and dart competition. In later years he enjoyed deep sea fishing, reading, puzzle solving and the casino atmosphere.
In 1979, after over 25 years in casket sales, Howard joined Northern Industrial Services, a Colonie engineering research and development firm, from which he retired in 1992. At the time of his death, Howard was doing night clerical work for KMart.
Howard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Julia Blakeslee Morehouse, a son, Charles Howard Morehouse, a sister, Alice Morehouse Hunt, nieces, Mrs. Shirley Hunt Weaver and Mrs. Alice Hunt Bruck, as well as two grand-nephews and a host of grand-nieces and great grand-nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Hunt Fiminsky.
On Friday, May 11, 2007 there will be a calling hour at 6:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). At 7:00 PM the Rev. Dr. Bryon Koshgarian, Curate, Church of St. Thomas of Canterbury will conduct the burial liturgy from the 1928 Anglican prayer book. On Saturday, May 12th at 1:00 PM, Fr. Koshgarian will perform graveside services for Howard at Albany Rural Cemetery.
