ALBANY- Howard J. Roberts 85, of Albany, died Wednesday December 24, 2008 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Austin and Catherine Roberts. Howard was a US Army veteran during WWII. He was employed as glazier installer and had worked at the Times Union. Howard was a member of the American Legion and the Bethlehem Elks.
He is the brother of the late Helen, Charles, Austin, James and John Roberts, Caroline Archer, Irene Denosky and Catherine Clark. He is the brother in law of Ellen Roberts. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Howard is the loving companion of the late Catherine Stuart. Dear friend of Joyce and Vince Donnelly and family.
The family would like to express tremendous gratitude to the wonderful staff at Guilderland Center Nursing Home for their kind and gentle care.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:15 at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. John's-St. Ann's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street., Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Howard J. Roberts.
