COLONIE – Howard Mills Linacre, 79, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2006 at The Inn at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Howard was born on October 29, 1926 in Rensselaer and was the son of the late George H. and Kathryn Hoffman Linacre. He served in the US Navy during WWII.
Howard worked at Tobin Packing Co. in Colonie for 28 years. He had also worked as a security guard at St. Peter's Hospital for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, sports, especially the Mets, fishing, playing cards and watching his children and grandchildren in sports.
Howard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie E. Phillips Linacre; his children, Linda (Robert) Shields, Sandra (Robert) Nicholson, Howard (Catalina) Linacre, Judy (Dan Price) Davis and Michael Linacre; his brothers, John (Betty) Linacre and Donald Linacre; his grandchildren, Gary, Duane and Renee Nicholson, Brandy and Dillon Davis, Luke Shields and Howie James Linacre; his step grandchildren, Martin, Layla and Ringo Carrizo, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and George Linacre and his sister, Jeanine Linacre.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Colonie. Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment Memory's Garden, Colonie.
