Ian Mcdermid

Mc Dermid- Ian C. McDermid, 79, formerly of Colonie, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2005 at his residence in Sarasota, FL. He was born in Montreal Quebec and was the son of the late Neil and Isabella Mc Dermid.
Ian had been an Albany area resident since 1950. He worked as a printer with the Times Union newspapers for forty years, retiring in 1991. Ian was a longtime member of the Albany Police Pipes & Drums. He was predeceased in 1997 by his beloved wife Grace Joyce Mc Dermid.
He is the beloved father of Joyce C. Nora of Sarasota, FL and Gail P. Kaiser of Tampa, FL. He is the brother of Neil W. McDermid of Montreal. Grandfather of Kaleen, Jaci, Jeannie, Ian and Spencer Nora; Brian and Heather Tabaknek.
Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 12:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
