I.C. Cancer

Albany- I. C. Cancer, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27th, 2015 having spent the last 7 years battling Alzheimer Disease. He was born November 7, 1936 to the late Smith Cancer and Mary Payne Cancer of Oxford, MS. I. C. was the devoted husband of Kathleen Cancer. They were married 58 years. He worked at General Electric Knolls Atomic for 22 years until he was injured on the job and retired on Disability in 1988.

I. C. enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing amongst other outdoor activities.

I. C. will be forever missed by his wife Kathleen, daughters: Sharon (Frankie E.) Faulkner of Long Island, NY and Joyce (Lawrence M.) Salazar of Watervliet, NY; sons: Issac (Leslie), and Gaston Jr. of Albany, NY; nephews: Marnel Hunter of Texas, and Warren (Benita) Lewis of Albany, NY; sisters: Geneva Nicks, and Mary Louise Lewis of Albany, NY; sister-in-laws: Lee Berta (George) Brown of Sardis, MS and Loda Mae Jackson of Birmingham, AL; brother-in-law: Robert Lee (Gladys) Hunt of Millington, TN; 12 grandchildren: Frankie E., Jr. (Sandy) of Troy, NY, Brandon E., Justin, and Janet Faulkner of Long Island, NY; Lawrence J. and Tatiana A. Salazar of Watervliet, NY; Elijah Cancer of Albany, NY; Tashawn Tarver, Lamiek, Lamesha, La'Toya, and Emerald Cancer of Albany, NY; 11 great grandchildren: Elijah Jr., Asijohn, and Hajile Cancer of Albany, NY; Tashwn Jr. Tarver, Macala, Elezra, and El'Queona Cancer of Albany, NY; I'Leika Murphy, O'Zias, O'zariah, and A'Lonah Courtwright of Albany, NY; and many loving nieces and nephews.

I. C. is predeceased by his daughter: Sandres Cancer, three brothers: David (D.C.) Cancer (Patricia), Gaston Cancer, and Greenberry Payne; two sisters: Maggie Lee Joiner and Evilean Jones

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie, on January 9th, 2016 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with a burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
