COLONIE – Ida Caron-Parsons, 94, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Ida was born on September 2, 1918 in Lewiston, Maine, where she was educated, and was the daughter of the late John and Delima (Trembley) LaBrie. She was the wife of the late Lionel Caron and William Parsons and sister of the late Annie, Alice, Yvonne, Blanche, Lou, Arthur, Jimmy, Albert and Foxy.
Ida moved to Colonie in 1951 and worked at European Health Spa for 12 years. She was a member of the H.B. Kuhn Senior Citizen Center in the Village of Colonie since 1982, where she was a cook and kitchen aide for over 25 years, and was a past President for 3½ years. She was also a member of several square dancing clubs, member of the Sunset Senior Bowling League, and a member of the Minuet dancers that performed at several places.
Ida is the mother of Celeste Bullis and her husband, Stephen of Waterford and the late Annette Caron Hall; grandmother of Barry Bullis and his partner, Edward Martinez of Maplewood, NJ, Aimee LaMora and her husband Gerry of Clifton Park, and Amanda Thompson and her husband Harry of Clifton Park; great grandmother of Zachary and Emily Rose LaMora, Marco, Alejandro, Jessica, Maria Celeste and Angelina Bullis-Martinez, and Hannah and Matthew Thompson; and stepmother of Shelia Holmes of Glens Falls and Bruce Parson of Hudson Falls. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Thursday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie then to St. Clare's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
