ALBANY – Ida K. Daly, 94, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospice Inn on March, 8 2014 with her loving and ever thankful sons by her side. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Charlotte Kaldor. Ida's beloved brother, Joseph Kaldor and loving sister and best friend, Marjorie Kaldor, predeceased her.
Raised in Brooklyn, NY, Ida graduated from Erasmus Hall High School. In her Brooklyn home she met her brother's best friend and love of her life, Robert B. Daly. They married in 1946 and loved each other deeply, even beyond his passing in 1979.
Ida was the head bookkeeper in Albany for the Papermakers Union, a successful businesswoman with Marjorie's Millinery on Central Avenue, and a bookkeeper at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for nearly 20 years.
Ida is survived by her sons, John R. (Joann) Daly and Kenneth B. Daly; grandchildren Kerry, Gregory and Amy; great-grandsons Owen and Quinn, and greatly loved great-grandson Aiden. Also surviving is her loving niece Virginia (Bruce) Cash, great-nieces Colleen and Lainey, and great-nephew Christopher, with whom she shared a very special bond.
Her life was greatly enriched with family friend and lunch buddy Joan Leary, longtime great friend Irene McDermott, and Bill and Dot Pollack. Ida was a member of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albany.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Nini Wu, P.A. Lisa Wolfe and all the wonderful, caring friends at New York Oncology and Hemotology. Further, the caregivers of St. Peter's Hospice were and are, wonderful beyond words and greatly appreciated by our family.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
