NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL - Ida Latimer Stoffel, 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Glendale Nursing Home in Glenville.
Ida was born on February 18, 1924 in Washington, DC and was the daughter of the late Roberts E. and Ida C. (Jarboe) Latimer.
Ida is survived by her loving husband, Wolmar J. Stoffel of New Smyrna Beach, FL; her children, William J. Stoffel of Washington, DC, Nancy Stoffel (Shawn Haarer) of Niskayuna, Joyce Stoffel of Alexandria, VA, Robert Stoffel (Rhonda) of Poughkeepsie; and her grandchildren, Eric and Cecelia Haarer and Lucas and Taeha Stoffel.
Ida enjoyed traveling with her husband to Egypt, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and Turkey. She was a devoted wife and mother and the greatest joy of her life was her family. She had a natural charm and outgoing personality, she could walk into a room of strangers and be friends with all of them before she left.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, 1803 Union St., Niskayuna. All are welcome.
