ALBANY – Ilene Dexter, 72 , passed away Wednesday April 9, 2008 at Ellis Hospital.
Ilene was born in Prattsville, NY the daughter of the late Amos and Frances VanValkenburgh. She worked for New York State for more then thirty years retiring in 1991, as a Clerk with the Department of State. Ilene loved to travel. She had visited far away places such as Australia and has been to all 50 states. She was a long time member of the Eastern Parkway Methodist Church. Ilene was predeceased by her husband Merlin Dexter in 2005.
She is survived by her brother John Phillips VanValkenburgh, her sisters; Linda Marquite and Donna Northup, her nieces; Renee Crandall and Frances Sitter and several great-nieces.
The funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be Friday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory's Garden Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
