Albany- Immacolata Ameduri, 91, died on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Childs Nursing Home. Born in Reggio Calabria, Italy she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Marianna Mesiti. Immacolata was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary Church in Albany.
Immacolata is survived by her daughter Ann Marie Valenza and son-in-law Nicholas Velenza of Albany; and her two granddaughters, Michelle O'Connor and her husband Kevin of Syracuse, and Lisa Wolanski and her husband Gregory also of Syracuse. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Bailey, Justin, and Jack, her sister-in-law Clementine Mesiti, and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Immacolata would like to express their deepest thanks to the nurses and staff at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital and also the Childs Nursing Home for all their help and support at such a difficult time.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church, Albany where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital, 750 E. Adams Street, Syracuse, NY 13210, or the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211, or to an organization of one's choice in memory of Immacolata Ameduri.
