Ina Doreen George, was born on September 17, 1937 in Georgetown, Guyana to the late William and Irene George.
Ina departed us and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 with her loving family by her side in Albany, New York.
She was 79 years old.
Ina migrated to the United States from Guyana in the summer of 1993 with one of her siblings, Eleanor.
Ina was a very serious and dedicated worker, but was also passionate about her job at Albany Medical Center where she worked as a custodian until her retirement in 2010. While in Guyana, Ina was employed by the Guyana Post Office Corporation until her migration to the United States. In her pastimes, she enjoyed doing craft work, watching her TV shows, but most of all spending time with her family, cooking, shopping or going on outings.
Ina is survived by her children: Sandra Jones, Vibert Charles and Bryan Leslie, her grandchildren: Keena, Keon, Kirk, Kester, Kedra, Keron, Kerron and Kareem and great grandchildren: Alexa, Najai, Kaylan, Kehri, Kassidy and Amaris. Her siblings: Silverine, Carlton, Eugenie, Eleanor and Lennox. Also several nieces, nephews and friends.
Ina was predeceased by seven siblings: Jonathan, Ectarine, Urani, Eslyn, Della, Burchell and Courtney.
A funeral service will be held Friday July 21, 2017 at 12:00 pm from New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. at the funeral home.
