Fox, Inez O. LATHAM Inez O. Rossi Fox, 93 passed away peacefully at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, Albany on Monday, January 9, 2017 surrounded by loving family members.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Cosimo and Mary Casteluzzi Rossi. Inez graduated from Troy High School and Mildred Elley School of Business. As a young woman, Inez worked at Hartigans Department Store, Peerless Department Store, and during WWII, Albany Felt as a spinner. Once she married her husband Jack of 47 years, she devoted herself to her family. After her children were grown, she worked summers at the Colonie Coliseum Theatre ("the Tent") as a dresser and hostess to the stars. Inez loved working with the many celebrities who visited the Coliseum each summer and had an amazing collection of autographs, pictures and stories that she proudly shared with her family and friends. For more than 50 years, Inez was a communicant of the Boght Reformed Church where she worshipped our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her most beloved hymn was "In the Garden" and her favorite scripture was Psalm 118:24 which reads "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." She also enjoyed the time she spent with her husband and the friends she made as a member of Thunder Road Senior Club and the Latham Circle Square Dance Club.
Inez was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother (Grammy), and great grandmother. Survivors include her children, Sharon Fox (Edward Rooney), Gail (Salvatore) Barbera, Nancy Jean (Dominic) Andriano; grandchildren, Robin Nagengast (Mike Basile), Callee (Patrick) Carpenter, Andrea (Dennis) Durkin, Joseph (Sarah) Andriano, Miles (Heather) Patalino, and Jennifer (Greg) Grasso; great grandchildren, Emily and Bridget Carpenter, Max and Leo Patalino, Anna Andriano, and Jackson Grasso. Inez was predeceased by her husband, Jack Fox and her sisters, Betty Zaccaro, Lena Rossi, and Joan Valentine.
Her entire family will always be grateful for the loving care, humor, and compassion from her extended family on the Green Unit at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center.
Inez's family will love her and miss her always. They ask that, in lieu of flowers, Inez be remembered with donations to the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204.
A private family service is planned and will be followed by interment at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
