ALBANY- Irene Lucy Bonnell (Rene), 61, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Irene was born on May 29th, 1960. She moved to the United States in 1978. She loved her family dearly, but her greatest achievement would be her four grandchildren. During her lifetime, Rene took care of many elderly people during their last years of life. She was well admired for her compassion and grace for her patients. Summers in the Adirondacks, camping with the love of her life, Frank, were her favorite and most peaceful times here on earth.
She is already so missed and the void she leaves in her family's hearts is overwhelming.
Irene is predeceased by her mother, Jane Bonnell; husband, Paul LaMay; sister, Barbara Nemetchek and sister, Brenda Harris (Trevor).
She leaves behind her fiancé, Frank Swint; Golden Doodle, Lucy; father, George Bonnell; daughters, Carrie Shanno (Gregg) and Jennifer Daley (Eric); her four adoring grandchildren, Hannah and Erin Shanno, Cameron and Kevin Daley; her best friend and sister, Charmaine Miles (Mark); her adoring brothers: Gerald (Mary), Terry (Tina), Robert (Jane) and Darryl (Pam); her dearest friends Sue and Pat, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins from her favorite country, Canada.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Gasson and his staff at St. Peter's Radiology Oncology, and the amazing Hospice nurses.
In lieu of services, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 5th at the West Albany Fire Co., Albany, NY 12205, from 2-6pm.
