Schenectady- Irene M. Bounds, 92, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Irene was born on June 29, 1925 in Whitecreek, NY. In 1954 Irene met the love of her life, Wesley Bounds. They were married on June 28, 1986. Irene will be remembered as a hardworking, kind and giving person. She loved her dogs, card game, and dominos. She will be greatly missed.
Irene is predeceased by her son, Robert Scranton, her siblings, Al Blake, Victor Blake, Clayton Blake, Lena Bourgault, and Margaret Blake, as well as her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Wesley Bounds, her children, James Scranton, Peter Scranton, and Lawrence Scranton, her brother, Hiram Blake Jr., her 6 grandchildren, and her 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 11:00am-1:00pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Capstone Nursing Rehab. for all of the care and compassion they had shown to Irene.
