Irene G. Hoffman
April 17, 1924 — November 2, 2013
ALBANY – Irene G. Hoffman, 89, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 surrounded by family at St. Peter's Hospital. A lifelong resident of Albany, Irene was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna Bender Coughlin and the beloved wife of the late Henry Hoffman.
Irene is also predeceased by brothers Andrew, Junior, Donald, Joseph Coughlin and sisters Catherine Deflumer, AnnaMae Tanchak, Joan Creed and Margret Urschel.
A retiree from the NYS Court of Appeals, Irene was an avid New York Yankee fan who would never miss watching a game on TV or listening on the radio. She also enjoyed spending time with her loving extended family and her faithful canine companion Kaya.
Irene is survived by her daughter Ann Hoffman of Greenville, her son Kenny Hoffman and daughter-in-law Jennifer Blyth Hoffman of Albany. Irene is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and cherished brother-in-law Andrew Carras.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
