Irene Gethman

ALBANY- Irene M. Gethman, 100, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 24, 2006 at St. Peters Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Henrietta Witt Kauff. Irene had worked as a Senior Typist with New York State Department of Motor Vehicle for thirty years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling, reading, playing cards and the joy of three generations of cherished nieces and nephews. Irene was a member of the Albany Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased in 1974 by her husband Harold W. Gethman. Irene is the great aunt of Fran Mesick and Lou Salvagio (Vince). She is the great great aunt of Michael, Todd and Marc Mesick ,Vinnie Salvagio and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9:30 at the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse Chapel, 634 New Scotland Ave. Albany. Friends may call Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 at the Chapel. Entombment will be in Memorys Garden. At the request of Irene's family memorial contributions are suggested to the Sisters of Mercy Retirement Fund, 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.
