Irene Pittz

GLENMONT, NY – Irene M. Pittz, 83, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2007 at Good Samaritan Lutheran Nursing Home. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Louise Meyer. Mrs. Pittz was a resident of the Capital District for all of her life. She was an excellent cook and especially enjoyed cooking for her family. Irene enjoyed reading and will always be remembered as having a "green thumb" for her vegetable and flower gardening. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Vincent J. Pittz. Irene is the devoted mother of John V. Pittz and his wife, Betty and Wayne K. Pittz and his wife, Kathleen. She is the sister of Richard Meyer and his wife, Barbara and the late Sonny, Robert and Edward Meyer and Louise Johnson. She was the cherished grandmother of Bo Bentley and Bryan, Meaghan and Chelsey Pittz. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
