TROY - Iris B. Brown, 62, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019. She was born on June 26, 1957 in Burlington, NC and was the daughter of the late Mamie Thompson and Hendrick Anderson.
Iris was a regional coordinator for the NYS Dept. of Labor for over five years before retiring. She enjoyed shopping, music, cooking, but most especially spending time with her family. She was an independent thinker, gave great advice and lived life to the fullest.
Iris is survived by her loving daughters, Lekedia (Charles) Rodgers, Ebony (Steven) Jones and Iman (Reginald) Temple; her siblings, Deborah McGee, Lacy Thompson, and Katherine (Derek) McCrary; her grandchildren, Xiana Wylie, Nascier Jones, Alanis Rodgers, Chyne Jones, Alisha Rodgers, and Elias Temple; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her step-daughter, Taniqua Culler.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 a.m to 12 noon. Interment will be held at Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.
